Maa Durga is an avatar of Goddess Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva. She is the warrior goddess and was incarnated to kill demon Mahishasura.

Maa Durga and Mata Parvati are indeed same supreme form of Goddess shakti in different forms, its just like one same coin with two different sides
Goddess Durga is indeed a symbol of power with protection and she rides Lion and tiger carrying many arms and weapons like arrow bow sword etc. she fights demons.
Goddess Parvati is indeed symbol of love and devotion. She is often shown holding lotus flower and wearing a red sari. She is wife of Lord Shiva and mother of Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya
