In Mahabharat, Karna was a Suta but he never considered himself as a Suta and believed that he is also kshatriya. Karna was insulted many times because of his identity then Duryodhana accepted him as a friend and promise to give him what he deserved. But their friendship was not true but materialistic. Duryodhana also used Karna for the sake of his benefits.
