More than one founder and revelation in Hinduism

Contrary to the other religions of the present time, Hinduism doesn’t go back to one single religious founder, revelation or scripture. In fact, there are several personalities who helped shape Hinduism’s spiritual philosophy and practices, some historical such as Shankaracharya or Chaitanya, others semi-historical or mythological, such as Krishna and Vyasa. And about others such as Patanjali, author of the famous Yoga Sutras, very little is known.

Hinduism is also referred as family of religions.
