The Supreme Lord Krishna ( Krishna) is the Original Personality of Godhead. He has multitudes of forms, all are original and infallible. He manifests His different forms out of His own sweet desire to enjoy Himself in lila (pastimes). Everyone and everything is connected to Krishna. Although everything is manifested by the will of Krishna, not everything is Krishna personally. His personal expansions are known as Vishnu tattva expansions. All personal expansions are supreme and worship-able. Krishna's marginal expansions are called shakti tattva and jiva tattva. These expansions are categorized within the hladini or pleasure potency. Their purpose is to render service to the Vishnu tattva expansions.

Although everything is Krishna, His expansions serve different purposes. The jiva tattva is endowed with minute independence. Under the influence of conditioned life, the jiva forgets his relationship with Krishna and acts independently. In the fully liberated position, the jiva understands that he is an eternal servant of Krishna and acts only to please the Lord. He understands that he is a part and parcel of Lord Krishna and must act according to the wishes of His Lord. His own spiritual body is an expansion of the Lord, meant to render loving devotional service. When the part acts for the welfare of the whole, there is tremendous synergistic energy called bhakti.

Therefore, although Krishna is one, He expands His own body to create many. In one sense, everything is Krishna. But because His expansions are eternally separate from Him, they are one and different from Him. No expansion can claim to have the same transcendental qualities as Krishna. The Lord's body, which is non- different than Himself, contains unlimited quantities of beauty, knowledge, strength, wealth, fame and renunciation. His expansive parts and parcels are endowed with a partial amount of the these qualities. Thus Krishna is the object of worship by His lesser parts and parcels. The Lord is accustomed to accept the service of His parts and parcels, reciprocating with unlimited mercy and Divine intimacy.

The body of the liberated soul has a particular spiritual form that is just suited to remember Krishna. A Krishna conscious living entity cannot forget Krishna even for a moment. Krishna, appreciating the surrender and love of his devotees, awards them with His personal assocation and engages with them in pastimes of love. These lila or pastimes, are the sport of the Lord. Essentially, therefore, the jiva and shakti tattva living beings, are created to engage the Lord in His lila. The Lord fully enjoys being the cynosure of His devotees and His devotees fully relish the opportunity of serving their worshipful Lord from moment to moment. There is no possibility of losing interest in such direct service of the Lord since His transcendental form is ever increasing in qualities. The fact that the Lord's form is ever increasing in transcendental fullness is the secret of His existence. Being the supreme Person, Krishna is not obligated to do anything. His playful nature is to enjoy Himself; after all, He is God alone. Whatever expansions are created, they are meant constitutionally to be engaged for His pleasure. If the expansion comes under the influence of maya (illusion), he forgets Krishna and his own nature as well. In the spiritual world, Krishna is eternally manifest and present to the eyes of his pure devotees. But in the material world, Krishna is invisible. He does not interfere with the minute independence of his conditioned parts and parcels, who wish to enjoy separately from Him. Upon meeting a true representative of the Lord ( guru), the conditioned soul is engaged in studying literature about the Lord, continuously serving the Deity of the Lord, chanting the glories of the Lord and offering prepared foodtuffs to the Lord. In this way, the Lord reveals Himself to the heart of the devotee, who then is reinstated in his constitutional position of eternal devotional service.
