The biggest living creature is been found within the ocean. Timingila is the largest fish who swallows hump whales, blue whales which are as huge as 5 elephants in a row & such a fish would be just a one time food for Timingila. In many Purans in different prasang we can hear about Timingila & Dinosaurs been mentioned as the huge lizards like animals.

The timingila fish are also described in the Shrimad Bhagavatam
"The fish, sharks, tortoises and snakes were most agitated and perturbed. The entire ocean became turbulent, and even the large aquatic animals like whales, water elephants, crocodiles and timingila fish [large whales that can swallow small whales] came to the surface. While the ocean was being churned in this way, it first produced a fiercely dangerous poison called haalahala."

The existence of big forms of animals is recorded in the Vedas (super-eagles or a Dino bird - Srimad Bhagavatam 5.23.3, timingila super-whales – Shrimad Bhagwatam 8.7.18, 8.10.10-12, 10.1.5-7). Shrimad Bhagwatam 8.10.10-12 mentions "big lizards" (Dinasaurs).

In Shrimad Bhagwatam 10.64.2-5 cowherd boys found a lizard 'resembling a hill' fallen into an old well and they couldn't lift it out.

According to Wikipedia Dinosaurs first appeared during the Triassic period, approximately 230 million years ago however Vedic Scriptures already knew without even searching for their fossils.
The Vedas also mention that with the progression of time the life forms become smaller.

"When the moon rose, the ocean surged and the image of the moon reflected unlimitedly in it. That ocean abounded with huge crocodiles that were as swift as fierce winds, as well as whales and Timingila." (Ramayana, Yuddha-kanda 4.114)

"There were seen Timingilas, tortoises, Timi-timingilas and Makaras, that were like great rocks submerged in the water." (Mahabharata, Vana Parva. 168.3)

When bulls are yoked together and tied to a central post to thresh rice, they tread around that pivot without deviating from their proper positions — one bull being closest to the post, another in the middle, and a third on the outside. Similarly, all the planets and all the hundreds and thousands of stars revolve around the polestar, the planet of Mahārāja Dhruva, in their respective orbits, some higher and some lower. Fastened by the Supreme Personality of Godhead to the machine of material nature according to the results of their fruitive acts, they are driven around the polestar by the wind and will continue to be so until the end of creation. These planets float in the air within the vast sky, just as clouds with hundreds of tons of water float in the air or as the great śyena eagles, due to the results of past activities, fly high in the sky and have no chance of falling to the ground – SB 5.23.3

O King, some soldiers fought on the backs of vultures, eagles, ducks, hawks and bhāsa birds. Some fought on the backs of timińgilas, which can devour huge whales, some on the backs of śarabhas, and some on buffalo, rhinoceroses, cows, bulls, jungle cows and aruṇas. Others fought on the backs of jackals, rats, lizards, rabbits, human beings, goats, black deer, swans and boars. In this way, mounted on animals of the water, land and sky, including animals with deformed bodies, both armies faced each other and went forward. 8.10.10-12 (Demons used to fight on the back of Rats, Lizards etc however these animals who were the ride of these demons & other devtas, these living creatures were as huge as a Mountain in size)
