Vasudeva was the father of Lord Krishna in Mahabharata, Balarama and Subhadra. He was the brother of Nanda and both were Gwala, which means those who rears cattle.

Nanda took care of Lord Krishna during his early years after birth.

His sister was Kunti, who was the wife of Pandu.
