Why Lord Shiva took rudra avatar

In order to kill Daksha, Lord Shiva took the avatar of Veer Bhadra which is also called his Rudra Avtar. Shiva was insulted by Daksha in the Yaga and Shiva's wife named Sati could not tolerate this and suicide or gave up her life in the fire of Yaga. Then Shiva took revenge in anger and killed Daksha.
