Can i go to temple on 4th day of periods?

It is said that a lady or girl can go to the temple on the 4th day of her menstruation period but she is not allowed to worship or perform aarti to God. She is also not allowed to even touch a single included in the puja. Actually, in India, menstruation is taken as a curse which is not good thinking.
