Can we read Bhagavad Gita during periods?

According to the Hindu religion, it is believed that women's body is impure during her menstrual period and should not do any religious activity. Bhagavad Gita is the most sacred and holy book of Hindu. So women should avoid reading it in order to maintain holy values, respect, and purity of Bhagavad Gita.
