If the essential oils contain monoterpenes or oxides in good volume, it will last for about one or two years. If it contains phenols, the shelf life is up to three years.

If the essential oils are stored in plastic bottle or not in cool or dark place, the shelf life is much less. So it is always suggested to only store the oils in glass bottle.

Those essential oils which contain ketones or esters help in longer shelf-life, up to five years. If sesquiterpenes and sesquiterpenols are used the longevity is increased for up to six years.
