Lord Vishnu had three wives - Lakshmi, Saraswati and Ganga. They were goddess of good fortune, goddess of wisdom and goddess who personified River Ganges respectively.
However, Vishnu lived only with Lakshmi. The three goddess had quarrel and Vishnu sent Ganga to Lord Shiva and Saraswati to Lord Brahma.
