It differs from place to place as India is a vast country. In north and central parts it is celebrated during spring harvest and called as Baisakhi. The date as per English calendar is 13/14/15 of April. In Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telengana and Andhra Pradesh the Ugadi is celebrated as New Year's day in late March.
