In Hinduism, it is believed humans are on a cycle of death and rebirth. It is called samsara. After death, the atman is reborn as a different body. Some say the death and birth happen in the continous process while others believe atman may also exist in other realms after death. Atman may enter swarg or narak before rebirth.
