Queen Dhankaur built it in 1810 A.D. and in 1962 it was again rebuilt. A pit can be found on the ground where it is said was the location of Dakska's sacrificial fire in which Sati stepped into and burned herself. The idol of Sati can be found there. Nearby is Nileshwar Mahadev Temple, a place believed to be Lord Shiva's when Daksh was performing the sacrifice fire.
