Kayastha emperor, The great King Lalitaditya Muktapida of Kashmir who ruled Karkota Dynasty during middle of the 8th century AD.

Raja Todar Mal,
One of the most notable Kayasthas of the Mughal period was Raja Todar Mal, Emperor Akbar's finance minister and one of the court's nine Navaratnas, who is credited with establishing the Mughal revenue system. He also translated the Bhagavata Purana from Sanskrit into Persian.

As per Abu al-Fazl prime minister of Emperor Akbar's prime minister, Kayasthas were rulers of the Pala Empire, one of the major early medieval Indian kingdoms that originated in Bengal, where majority of Hindu zamindars living in Bengal were Kayasthas.

The rulers of the Sena Empire, which controlled Bengal during the 11th-12th centuries, were Kayasthas of the Gaur sub-caste.

Upon the Muslim conquest of India, Kayasthas mastered Persian which became the official language of the Mughal courts.

If I am not wrong Lalitaditya ruled for 36 years and during his reign his kingdom expanded vastly. He defeated Turks and Arabs too in 8th century.

His dynasty ended in 885 AD with the rise of Utpala dynasty. However, he was the greatest king of Kashmir and strongest ruler of the karkota dynasty.

Yes his rule came to an end in 885 AD but his death was pathetic. He didin't die in war but due to high out-of-season snowfall when he was extremely away from his kingdom, in Aryanaka country.

Lalitaditya was highly religious too and it is evident from his efforts in building Hindu shrines and temples in almost every village and town in his kingdom. The most famous temple built by him was Martland Sun Temple.
