One of the oldest forms of meditation is meditating on the Divine. For Christians, this could mean meditating while visualizing a cross or Jesus. For those of the Jewish faith, imagery meditation can be on the Star of David, while Native Americans might focus on the Great Spirit.

All religions have some kind of God, Goddess, higher power, or religious figure that can be used for religious meditation. The main idea of this type of meditation is to focus on the chosen higher power to feel a deeper religious or spiritual connection.
