Goddess Ardhashini is Mausi of Lord Jagannath. The Mausi Maa temple in Puri, on the Bada danda (Grand road) is dedicated to her. She is also called as Ardhashosini and according to legend she drank half of the sea water to save the Jagannath Temple from getting flooded. She is the guardian of Shree Kshetra in company with Kapalamochana Shiva.
